We are excited that 2015-2016 group lessons will be starting up really soon! Specific dates are still TBD, but know that lessons will begin sometime late September. Check back often, as finalized details and the registration form will be posted in the coming few weeks.
Meanwhile, here are a few reasons why group lessons are a good idea…
Musically speaking
- Builds chamber music skills, and the ability to play music well with others
- Improves intonation drastically, as our students are forced to listen to themselves and adjust accordingly in order to fit among the sounds around them
- Playing with others gives our students mutual encouragement and role models to follow
- Drastically improves rhythm and eventually, sight-reading
- Fosters the love of playing music together as a community
Life
- Gives the space for friendships to grow
- Gives our students opportunities to lead and build their leadership skills
- Enables our students to practice and improve upon their communication and social skills
- Builds confidence in one’s ability to play, perform, and speak in front of others
- Fosters skills in teamwork and working together with others to achieve a goal
There are many reasons for why group lessons are an essential part of your child’s music education, and the list above is far from an exhaustive one. Nevertheless, we have attempted to give you a small glimpse into the many benefits of group lessons, and it is our hope that you may consider enrolling your child in this unique educational experience.
